Winter Skin Care

Winter season is scary as our skin goes through a lot. Caring for skin during winter is challenging and tiresome for many of us. I have been through and my friends have been through this until we discovered and started to adapt seasonal diet and skin care routine.

Dry and chapping skin

Skin care during Winter

Dry skin is a common problem we all face during winter. Some may face chapping skin conditions that are very difficult to hide or to get rid. I have been using a simple coconut oil to prevent dry stripping skin and was amazed with the results. Applying coconut oil or mustard oil before bath helps a lot. Coconut oil is a known natural moisturiser for dry skin during winter. There is no need of fancy creams and lotions in the end. There are many brands selling winter care creams, however finding one that suits your skin is important. Choosing a reliable brand is wiser. Always ask for a tester if the store offers one before making the purchase. In general plant based products are safer ones.

Good sleep = Healthy skin

Don’t ignore the fact that sleep is important for healthy skin. A good night’s sleep can mean good skin health. Lack of sleep can increase stress in the body and as a result can lead to inflamed skin conditions such as Acne or psoriasis. Additionally, it is a known fact that lack of sleep accelerates the ageing process. Proper sleep allows hormones to repair damaged cells.

Toner the winter weapon

I love toners and it is a secret weapon for a good looking skin. Most dermatologists recommend tones as it is helpful to shrink pores, remove makeup and dirt, restore pH balance and some good ones moisturises too. It not only refreshes the skin but also prevents from drying up on any weather condition. Toner with rose water base and alcohol free ones are best to all skin types. This has done some incredible things for skin inflammation and scarring. It's an extraordinary method to include dampness, as well, in case you're stressed over breaking out.

Twice a week Exfoliation

Perhaps the greatest misguided information is that you shouldn't exfoliate your skin during  winter. Exfoliation is important to help skin retain moisture and get that smoother look. During exfoliation, simple care should be taken to apply gentle pressure on skin and avoid being too hard on skin. It should be just enough to remove dry skin cells on the surface of the skin. Be kind to apply a good moisturises to hydrate.

Oil based lip guard for winter

Lips are the first to encounter the impacts of winter season. They get dry and flake out producing a rough texture. Use of lip guards and lip moisturises will prevent from chapping. Using oil based products will last longer and provide good results during winter. Use of petroleum jelly is a good choice. It costs less and produce good results.

Hydration for skin from the outer side

Moisturise skin during winter

Hydration is very important during winter. Hydrating serums, bedtime moisturisers and soothing products are best friends. It does wonders to all skin types. It just does its job while we sleep.
Throughout the winter, I go after whatever will give my skin the extra moisture. That as a rule implies changing from water-based recipes to oil-based ones, hydrating covers, and items that are substantial and thick in dampness and on surface of the skin. Furthermore, I use plant based products to be gentle on my skin. This applies for all skin types and it is crucial to be gentle on the skin to prevent drying, getting rough or chapping out.

Seasonal greens on your winter diet

Diet is an important factor affecting skins’ health. What you eat determines your skins’ health. Eating regular greens during winter can help maintain your skin and hair. We already know that greens and fruits do good to our body.
fruits and vegetables are important part of winter skin care
It is important to keep this in mind and eat seasonal greens and fruits in plenty. They help in providing necessary nutrition for skin and help in blood circulation. Eat these greens during every meal throughout winter for sound weight, skin and hair.

And... Finally say good bye to dry skin.
